How was your day?
Re: How was your day?
Took Laurie up to Casey's so he could Thank young Payden for putting the Tank together, We have a folding wheelchair that I used to push him around in as he can not walk very far, He is on very strong pain killers too.
Re: How was your day?
Tank is now back with me as Laurie crashed it off a small tablet he was trying to show granddaughters how the gun worked, two small things came off and are easy to glue back on.
He said he worried he would do more damage to it.

Sounds great KC! It’s a shame to be moving around again but if you can snag a full time job that’s awesome!!! I’ve been doing my job for nearly 3 years now and still can’t get full time. Only contracts and extensions, avoiding full time.slowlylearning wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 2:44 am Sorry to hear about your mate Al, that's terrible.
My traineeship's finished up and it's the last week in this house this week then I'm off to the new place in Toowoomba... Boss told me that the big boss most likely is going to offer me a fulltime job manning one of those recycle-dropoff places when they find a shed in the Dalby area. Figures. As good as that is I've already signed a lease (and a stat-dec) for the place in Toowoomba. I'll break it for a fulltime job, family be damned![]()
Re-did a couple of older wheels and added them into all the same kind of lip... Just kinda cause. First gif is the most recent comission I did for someone on Instagram, some sort of off-road thing with a massive beadlock.

Killer to see you 3Ding again when your set up after the move we may have to collaborate on a wheel crossed

Went to Laurie place this morning and he is in a lot of pain, He puts on a brave face but you can tell his his in more pain. I think he only has weeks left. He gave a another mate of mine his OO scale train layout this morning. I hope he makes the move to Canberra to see out his last days. crossed

Yeah mate. Weathers not great atm and I’m getting less n less time at the bench. About to go through some changes at work too. I’m going from a control room job to one where I actually work 11 hours of a 12 hour shift (1 hour break is for lunch) so I’m reckon I’ll be exhausted the next month or so until I adjust.
Re: How was your day?
Jezz what happen to the 8 hour shift day and the 40 hour week.

Re: How was your day?
Been a big month for me!
About 6 weeks ago I got an offer to join one of our Contractors as their Senior Drafter, which after a few days of
I accepted. A chance to develop my drafting skills and possibly buy into the business down the road was just too good of an opportunity to pass up.
This is not the sort of thing I would normally do but I figured I was in a good position to bet on myself so I did.
So yesterday was my last day at GFG, now I'm not going far, in fact I will be spending the first few weeks of my new job finishing the work from my old job for various reasons but I did get a very warm farewell yesterday so it was nice to know my efforts over the last 4 years (almost to the day) were appreciated.

I also received a very generous gift voucher which almost immediately was put towards:

First 1/18 car I have bought for ages but this is one of my all time favourites!
So now I have a week off to get some modelling done before starting at Metric Elements, shameless plug coming in 3,2,1.......
http://www.metricelements.com.au
Early in March I also got to cross something off the bucket list when I made it to the Phillip Island historic festival which was just brilliant, will post up some of the best pics my Dad took later, especially the one of Allan Moffat that got old Moff (who I suspect is starting to suffer from dementia actually, he was not in a good way) to swear at him!
So been very busy over here which has meant no time at the model desk and I'll be hitting the new job hard, being a contractor means making every hour count which is a bit different to being on the other side of the fence.
I'm going to try and get some of the 90+% done builds I have around actually finished this week as I have a big urge to build one of these:

and one of these:

But I'm absolutely not buying either till I have cleared my desk of my current projects!
