AMT 1934 Ford Hot Rod build

Post by sandboarder »

So here's my first Hot Rod CB build idea/kit. Plan is build it OOB as the fenderless Hot Rod but use the stock builds flathead V8 which I want to put a resin supercharger on for that Hot Rodding influence. It was going to be purple n yellow but I think it'll be purple with a white stripe.

I'm only going to clean up the moon roof area for now while I wait for other paint to dry on my other kits. I cut the moon roof out like 8-9 years ago but never done anything else with the kit.

That's going to look good, If you looking for the grill there was a 37 Ford pickup truck kit that came out with two different grills a 37 & a 38, the box art shows the pickup built with the 38 one.

While waiting on paint to dry on the 55 Chev and I now need to strip and re-do the bonnet on my Camaro I have started the body. Moon roof done, cleaned up the cut and filled the nicks. Sanded the flash which was heaps being AMT. I mocked up the rear window frame but I'm just gonna ditch it so the Windows larger in size.

I've noticed the 34 body has a much shorter area near the firewall and cowl so I'm unsure on how the stripes will look. Hopefully I'll get a final coat of primer on tonight, then a coat of racing white ready for taping up designs.

I've only removed 5 pieces from the tree and have now hit a major disappointment. Here's the pics

And the massive gap in my mock which the fenders would normally cover.....

Jezz that's bad you have to file a lot of the inner fender to fit. you could put the rear fender on but bob it.
