Yeah did a couple tests. Rattle-can flat clear went fine so I just did that in a few lala wimpy light coats rather than use the airbrush.

There's a thin layer of dust from the spraying making it look a bit lighter than it actually is. A wipedown when its fully cured will take care of that. Super pleased with the result. Waiting on some decals in the mail and I gotta remove the residure the masking stickers left on the windows then it's final assembly-o'clock!

Okay, big post of images of all the randomness I've been up to over the last few months with descriptions underneath;

Image
Got an artist to draw up a quick carton-y version of that VW bus, then got it made in to sticker, PM me addresses if yous want one :)

Image
Painted a skate deck, was a fun process. Got 3 more prepped in silver and flake waiting for some special stencils to arrive from the states.. Been almost 2 months waiting for those. Did this one with rattlecan DNA Paints products. The prepped ones were surfaced a whole lot nicer lol

Image
Did some wheels for a future replica of the PLEEZN RX7 sexspec car from years ago. the wheels on the bottom were the first try at but I wasnt happy with them, second try (top) were much better.

Image
I've dipped in to 1:35 scale diorama stuff, drew up these plant pots, aircon units and manhole. There's so many existing products in 1:35 I never knew about!

Image
My first little try at a mini 1:35 scene. This is the kinda stuff I want to practice and do, nothing big, just tiny little scenes with plants and urban details. So fun and relaxing!

Image
Some solid OEM-style Chevy wheels in large diameter, with some p.e centercap details. SMS Super Silver is amazing!!

Image
Image
The build they're for. C1500 steppy. made hilariously thin tubs for the rear and lazily made a diff tunnel across the tray lol

Image
Painted it in SMS Gold, still need to do the secondary colour down the side, that'll be SMS Sand. Cedric is in SMS Chocolate Brown, my new favorite colour!

Image
I didn't draw these centers, I just printed em. Painted in white with SMS Prismatic Silver dusted lightly over the top to catch the light at certain angles.

Image
Some of yas might remember this S15 when it had VIP Modular dinnerplate wheels on it  Gonna go with a solid gloss white, blue, yellow or red, havent decided yet.

Image
Cedric BMF'd... So much trim on this car! I often forget how relaxing BMF is, because I very rarely get to that stage

Image
Quick evening paintjob on a Haro

Image
Image
Lighting makes a huge difference to the colourshift paints appearance! Way more than I thought it would.

Image
Added lights to my (grubby as) display cabinet. They're just those mega cheapo 'DIY Wine Bottle Crafts Party Decoration LED' things crammed under the shelves.

Image
The next 1:35 diorama setting I'm working on, sideways image for some reason lol Vending machine and a notice board as base detail items.

Image
Unsure of what plants I'll use, or how crazy to go with em. Still deciding what to do as a texture on the back 'wall'.

Image
Custom rear tail light panel for the Cedric has some sparklies on it

Image
Image
Image
The latest wheel I've drawn up and printed. Fifteen52 Asphalt I'm pretty sure they're called. THose finned covers were a nightmare to clean up. I broke a single fin off the one for the other front wheel, doh.

Image
Finally painted those 5-lug Yayois, the SMS SUper Silver doesn't photograph too well.

Image
Image
Image
Same with these Marios. Using thiese on that Ceddy.

Image
Resin-flavored lollypops!

Image
That skate deck in the sun to show the flake.

Image
Image
MASSIVE 6-spoke Twisted Vistas for a slammed Ford Explorer/Expedition build, I forget which it is. It's the snaptite kit.

And that's the end of that chapter!

So much more I still want to do! Rotiform Aerodisks are very much on my radar! As are some smaller diameter wheels!

Sorry, missed this! Nah I don't think so, a lot of people have taken up custom deck painting as a hobby over the lockdowns across the world I think

I decided to give it a red hot go so I bought like 6 el-cheapo decks, that blue one is done as its gonna get, it's pretty crap since I didn't prep the surface enough and the decks I got are insanely poor quality, hence cheap. 3 are ready for taping and patterns to be airbrushed on, I got them all in silver with a coat of flake over that. one is crapped up in black basecoat all crappy. I think it's a goner because I CBF fixing it, and there's still an untouched one in my cupboard haha
