Aoshima 1980 Subaru Sambar 'High Roof'

The 'Shakotan Partyvan'

Tamiya paints, black in the door-channel was done with super thinned Vallejo black, Silver was Sharpie.

Made custom-sized wheels and tyres for this little babby car.

Ha, thats something different. Good combination of colours and the design of wheels is excellent and suit it well. Seriuosly cool build, I like it.

Thanks man! I wanted to do a more sedate paintjob rather than one that jumps out... So brown to the rescue!

The wheels are called TRD Toscos I'm pretty sure, older ones from the 70s and 80s I think.

Seriously cool.
Would look awesome in that chameleon paint, with your wheels of course.
They would look cool under a mini too, I recon.

Cheers guys, I've been loving how simple the Japanese curbside kits can be, no faff in em and they go together so nice!

I am planning a build with a certain specific paint :D

Totally agree. Alot of fun to build and great shelf model that stand out from the rest.
Also very crisp and sharp, where as Revell and AMT seem soft and dull, know what I mean ??

Yeah I rekon there's many many folks that work in the factories that their only job is maintaining, rotating and inspecting the molds and products they spit out, in fact I think I remember a short little docco about a mold-master who works at the Bandai factory who did just that. You can tell from the little stuff like injector-pin locations and how brittle the flashing (if there is any) is. I love em. The only kit I think I've ever not totally loved from a Japanese manufacturer was the Tamiya r32 Skyline kit. It seemed a bit on the tired side in spots, but it still shat all over a vast majority of the poor old AMT molds like the 51 Chevy.
