2004 Holden Adventra LX8 - Mrs Bodgy's

Post by bodgybro »

Since i am selling the Holden Adventra my wife used to drive, I decided to make her a model of it to remember it. (coz I can)

The design seemed simple enough.... famous last words?
I made all the pieces I thought would need to be strong, strong.... oh how wrong I was.
This was the worst support removal I have ever had. the body printed almost paper thin, even tho i made it 1mm thick as like all my others.
For some reason, the shape was just a PITA for support removal.. so, if at first you don't succeed (and it's not skydiving), redesign, reprint.

1st design VS redesign

I will make this with interchangeable wheels as it's had stock wheels and VE GTS wheels.

Got some colour on it.
Used the genuine colour as I got it matched to repaint some of the real parts.
I did notice I forgot the roof cargo area and roof racks so they will be made as add on pieces.
Next is doing all the black trim.

No luck involved :)
Once I decided I would repaint parts of the 1:1, I started on the model design with the intent of using some of the colour matched paint woo

So i was painting the black parts and doing the badges when i noticed... I F'd up badly.... I totally did the front wrong. not only did I do the VZ bonnet when it is in fact a VY (even tho the papers say VY, it comes up as VZ on almost everything else). I also did the fog lights in the black bumper but when painting, thought that looked odd.. so I checked pics.. doh!
Redraw!!
So I added the roof cargo area and racks to this version and print. NOW I am happy with it lol.
Time to start the prep and paint again.
