Salt-Lake Tyres

Post by slowlylearning »

Pretty much, i sandwiched a tyre between two wheel-backs from a 50 Oldsmobile kit and sanded them on the dremel using a couple of small nuts and a bolt. You could just as well use washers.

I sand off all the tread first.

Then do the shaping.

Impressive, clever idea using the wheel backs to clamp and hold the tyre.
Your dremel sure does get a work out

It's starting to go on me. Half the time it ignores the fact I've flicked it on, and the other half of the time it runs so super-slow. Got a few years outta it

My old dremel started to do that, when it packed it in, I gave it to my boss as I bought a new one anyway... he pulled it apart and found it just needed a clean INSIDE the casing... worked fine for him until he blew it up.

Good stuff, I've found slipping the tyre over a socket does the trick as well ;)
