oh yeah, been watching Viking's, had to go back to the start to work out who was who. Have now caught up to season 4, love it, quite violent but very interesting from a historical point of view.

Yeah, stay in same area, just a chance to get pretty close to out of debt, we don't want to move our youngest from school just yet, see how these jobs go.
Haven't watched Game of Thrones yet, might look into it.

Ray, have you had a professional HR person look at your resume lately. I was put on to a lady who helps injured workers return to work, she has been in HR for 20 odd years. She said in reality HR has about 15 seconds to peruse your resume when you apply for a job so it has to be to the point and not long winded.
I met with her for about an hour and we pretty much changed everything on mine and it definitely made a difference. I thought mine was pretty good till she pointed out what was wrong and needed to be changed.
She is on the Gold Coast but if you would like I can get her number for you if you don't know of anyone down your way.
A face to face with her is $120 an hour but worth it. She may be able to skype with you or may even be able to do something over the phone if you email your resume.
She is very good and a nice lady. Let me know.

Cheers Kirk,

Mine was done by pros...twice, the first one left out my Military Service saying it was irrelevant....WTF :x !!!???

So after giving her the flick it was redone by another pro and it's a good one, much better, brief and to the point...

It's just a tough climate in SA at the moment, you apply and there's 100+ applying for the same position.....

I've got a few different versions depending on the position I apply for based on my qualifications ;)

I'll land something......just a question of when :|

Jeeze Kirk, you're in the thick of it aye! I hope it goes well man :D

Viking if a good show, the main dude's brother Rollo was a real dude and apparently the Queen is a vague descendant of hers

Resume's are no doubt put through a computer program that looks for key words, if it pings enough of them it'll go to the next stange, some poor HR person has to read 100s of them for one position so they can really only spend a few seconds on each application. It's an automated process now. It p.sses me off when the job agency folks ask if I've been about handing out resumes, because it's the rarest thing to find a place that will actually take them, they all just say to apply online and would more than likely throw your cv away.

After all the issues i have been dealing with lately, my bike was going good....

Im on the way to work yesterday morning, on the M1, along a stretch of nothing, slight right bend... bike wont lean over... ah F!! not again!!
I pull over and yep, rear puncture.
ring my boss who is on night shift and let him know i will be late, understandably, hes not happy as he has to leave by 730 to get his flight to china for his 3 weeks a year vacation.
$110 to rejoin the NRMA to get a partial tow, then $100 for the extra ks due to where i was.
It was $250 to get it to the bike shop or $100 to get it home, so it went home.
I know a guy who runs a little green truck/ute up my way and used to tow my bikes to the bike shop for $50, figured hes gunna make another $50 today. get the bike home at 6, go to jump into my rex... dead battery... not even enough juice to unlock the door. use the key, not even a click of the starter :/ ring work, organise someone else to come in because aint no way im getting there before 10 if i have to train it.
wait a few hours then ring Owen, sorry mate, I do a lot more work for bunnings now so ive put racks in the ute and dont do bikes anymore.
ring the guys who towed me earlier, $132 to get it to the bike shop. booked it
they turn up and tow it at 1030... oh yea forgot, since my R1 has 4 ways and i was on the thin shoulder on the m1, i had them on so no trucks wiped me out. sitting there for an hr and a half with them on, the bike went flat.
i told the towie the battery is flat and i had already rang the bike shop and let him know its coming and for what.
bike arrives atthe shop, towie tells them the battery is broken so the mechanic rings me... i had to explain again what happened... getting quite frustrated.
fortunately, he rings me back later, the tyre can be repaired so its only $60 and not $340 like last time.
go to supercheap, get the ONLY battery approved for a 2011 WRX... yes, ONLY 1 attery is approved by subaru to run my model or the warranty is void. Century $179 of course.
bike gets fixed, all up $78
my day cost me $599 and a day off work.

frustrated, beaten... 2 words amongst others i felt.
to top it off... my supportive wife of late, was away and the old 1 who made me feel guilty as if i had planned all this to go wrong and cost so much, had returned.

you know what FML means? thats pretty much what all the voices were screaming yesterday

Good day yesterday pick up another cheap COE truck kit the AMT White/Freightliner, :) got a few more to get. :)
Drop by Bruce (silverfox) to see what he has been building of late, He is building up the Emhar Bedford tanker truck kit. He has gotten very disheartened with it and is at the point of put it in the rubbish bin.
The problem is he wash and dryed the parts the he used Tamiya TS rattle can primer the three different colours, Flat black, yellow and dark blue. Each time he is getting fish eye in the paint like you do with resin, Its not one parts its every thing he has sanded it back reprimer new coat of colour more fish eye  Got me stumped at why dunno he has the little tow truck and with the trouble his had with the tanker he does not want to build it.
