Hoonifox

Post by bodgybro »

Ok gentlemen....

I have been missing for a while, I've come back with some new juice. Very much KC inspired juice... so I'm gunna throw this out there.
I have been working on a Hoonifox model.
The plan was to release it on shapeways and make some coin... but before that happens.
I was thinking.... Would anyone be interested in a KV Exclusive release build?
A 1 off cost of $40, I will print you the Hoonifox body, 4 wheels and brake/rotors, a chassis (with wheel mounts) and vac formed windows/lenses, both side draft exhausts
No interior as I haven't got pics of that so that'd be up to you to make, I might be able to put in a dash from a basic mustang.

Anyone keen?

That looks awesome!!!

It’s not something I would build atm so I’ll have to pass on the offer. My hobby habits have changed in the last 2-3 years and I’m probably going to have even less time soon.

Always cool to see the stuff you 3D guys do. Certainly the future of modelling, amazing what people can do nowadays.

Il pass.
Have more than enough kits to keep me occupied, be lucky if I get to build a 1/4 of my stash rofl

The first Hoonifox in production... these pics are upside down, hence the drips that look like lumps :)

clap Wow! its unbelievable seeing you printing full bodies on your own printer. You are so lucky to have the skills, know how and the printer to be able to do that.
I cant say ive seen many people world wide that are capable of drawing/rendering and then printing car bodies and havent seen any auto modeller's with a resin printer of that size.

So in saying all that look, really look forward to seeing get back into things and what you come up with.

Found a few small flaws which will be fixed for V2 print
The top part of the rear wing is a little too fine and brittle, also the rear diffuser. not huge problems but will be fixed none the less.

Yasss Hoonifox! The process is still a bit unbelieveable, I love it to bits nonetheless! Seeing stuff come to life! I'm flabbergasted at the fact you seem to have avoided any warping at all!!

Looks heaps good for a first test print, imagine how long it would take to mod a kit and scratch build from styrene.

 I would like to tackle this one day, but so far the body work intimidates me

Ahhhh I forgot about that one but it was not the 1 I was referring to :)
That 1, spray putty a few coats, sand, more spray putty and sand... comes out nice.
I might print 1 in liquid resin and see how that compares. I know it's a lot easier to sand. I sanded the bonnet of the HQ I smashed and reglued (used resin actually), sanding was so easy.

So you have a Hoonicorn... I know bear has a hoonicorn and a Daytona... but I printed something on my big printer and shipped it out to someone.....
When he decides to pull his finger out, he may post it to show.
